The Magic Lantern

The Magic Lantern is the musical moniker of Jamie Doe, a rising start of London's diverse music scene. A songwriter and composer drawing on jazz, folk and contemporary music, his third album 'To The Islands' was written following a tumultuous journey to Australia, after nearly 10 years away and explores memory and hope in a world of near constant uncertainty. ‘To The Islands’ is due for release in the spring of 2017/18.

For this single launch party for 'Holding Hands' The Magic Lantern will be performing with quartet accompanied by saxophone trio.

Spindle Ensemble

The Spindle Ensemble are an experimental acoustic instrumental group from Bristol, formed in 2016. They play original compositions combining elements of Classical, Folk and Jazz, creating music of a cinematic nature. The compositions are deliberately interpretable, leaving room for improvisation and playful interaction between the musicians. Influences and comparisons include Moondog, Somei Satoh and Eric Satie.

Spindle Ensemble is part of the Bristol based musical collective ‘Bloom’.

Caelia Lunniss – violin
Harriet Riley – marimba, vibraphone
Jo Silverston – cello, musical saw
